:- I have updated every driver i could using Slimdrivers (The drivers could not be rolled back so i though updating them would solve the problem) :- I have added/replaced the Sndvol32 file (but still Place sound icon in system tray is still greyed out) :- I have check to see if my computer picks up my sound card and it does (It has primary sound card and Modem 1 line playback (emulated)) What i have tryed :- I have tryed placing the sound icon in the system tray (But is greyed out so cant add ) Im trying to fix my mums computer and the problem is there is no Sound (Also there is no sound icon in the system tray). Listen to the new sounds and assign them to events as you want.This has been driving me crazy for almost 2 weeks now. Alarm01, Windows Notify Calendar, Windows Message Nudge that are not assigned by default in Windows XP. There are new sound files in Windows 8, e.g. Speech recognition sound files are included but must be assigned manually.Ģ. To delete the sound files if desired, delete the \windows\media\Windows 8\ folder.ġ. Select Delete to delete the sound scheme (note, this only deletes the scheme list not the files).ĥ.
